Gareth Fitzhugh, Business Development Executive at Goodlord, was previously a lettings negotiator and chose to bring that lettings experience to a new challenge at Goodlord in 2021. Here are his thoughts on how that's working out.
Weekends! I wanted to move for a better work-life balance. While I loved being an estate agent, the hours took its toll. What was the next best thing? Goodlord.
I did my research on the company and really bought into the company ethos and values of wanting to create the best rental experience in the world. I actually saw a video of Christopher Watkin whizzing around the old office on YouTube and realised this was the company and environment I wanted to be a part of.
The team has helped the transition and welcomed me with open arms - albeit predominantly virtually at the beginning. It can be difficult starting a new role from home, but the support and training given to help new starters through the process couldn’t be better. There were a lot of new starters when I joined so it’s always nice seeing their faces in the office or on our weekly huddle.
Wednesday breakfasts - believe me, it's quite a spread! And of course the people and team I work with. I love the fact I feel valued and my opinion and ideas are heard, whether it's a sales catch-up call for the day or a marketing meeting, you really can make an impact and shape the future of this exciting company.
Fulfilling.
Make the move that’s right for you. Goodlord is the best working environment I have been a part of and I’ve never felt so motivated and driven before. You have to live it to believe it!
