This year marked the 10th anniversary of the UN General Assembly declaring an annual "Global Day of Parents". Since then, it has been held on 1st June each year to honour parents around the world.

Parenting, often portrayed on social media as an idyllic state of being - beautifully dressed, calm, doting parents, effortlessly juggling work and home, with smiling, cooperative children - is not typically the reality. Well, certainly not in my experience. As the co-parent of three girls and a dog, life is not emotionally or logistically straightforward.

A lot of people lack respect for others' boundaries, primarily because they don't have any for themselves. They may say "it's your job" or "we're paying you to do something". However, I encourage everyone to appreciate boundaries and try to understand what they are, and how they can create a healthy culture. A business will lose people if it doesn't value those boundaries.

The last couple of years have been difficult for us all. The pandemic forced us to be away from the office and it caused disruptions. The focus quickly switched to how we can maintain our standards, and it was more important than ever to maintain that sense of camaraderie we once had. Now that there’s light at the end of the tunnel and we’re slowly getting back to normality, I want to take this opportunity to look back at what helped us during this challenging period.

The aim is to imagine a gender equal world, free of bias and discrimination - and work towards making that a reality. The campaign asks us to consider how we can take action as individuals, and Goodlord's Diversity Club has set up a number of initiatives to help Goodlordians do just that.

How we developed an industry-leading content marketing programme that's doubled its traffic every year

It started with a blog. That blog, which was updated once a week, along with a single white paper, was the extent of Goodlord's content marketing programme when I joined the business in 2018. But as Goodlord has scaled, so too has its content strategy. Now, the blog is just one element of our industry leading content marketing programme, which has grown to encompass regular white papers, data indexes, industry-wide surveys and reports, on-demand webinars, and even a podcast. We've also doubled both our mailing list and traffic every year along the way and, ultimately, helped to build awareness of Goodlord as a brand and cemented it as a thought leader. But it didn't happen overnight. Content, as everyone knows, is a long game.
