Congratulations! You've been invited to interview for a role here at Goodlord. Your interview with us might look a little bit different to interviews you've had with other companies. That's because we split our interviews into two parts - a role-related interview (which is exactly what it sounds like) and a values interview.
There aren't many businesses that would let you interview for a new role dressed as Ali G. But, with Goodlord's yearly Halloween party and his interview for Referencing Team Lead scheduled for the same day, that's exactly what Matt Jeffries did. And not only did he get the role - stepping up into a senior position in the team after only a year as a Referencing Executive with Goodlord - he won the competition for best costume, too.

Addressing mental health in a business context can be difficult. It can be a sensitive subject, and yet it's important to discuss so that everyone understands the importance of maintaining mental health and wellbeing, and what tools and support are out there.
"As the management guru Peter Drucker once put it, 'culture eats strategy for breakfast'," says William Reeve. "I happen to believe that the winning breakfast is a combination of great culture and great strategy - but either way, it starts with the culture."
A lot of people lack respect for others' boundaries, primarily because they don't have any for themselves. They may say "it's your job" or "we're paying you to do something". However, I encourage everyone to appreciate boundaries and try to understand what they are, and how they can create a healthy culture. A business will lose people if it doesn't value those boundaries.
